My Journey

Hi, I’m Jonathan, founder of Definition Fitness.

After 25 years in the corporate world, I realised it was time for a change. Spending every day behind a laptop had taken its toll, and I knew I needed to prioritise my health and wellbeing. I wanted to move more, get stronger, eat better, and feel healthier — both physically and mentally.

That realisation led me to take a leap and follow my passion for fitness. It was a big change, but also one of the most rewarding choices I’ve ever made.

Now, as a fully qualified and insured Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, my goal is to help others take control of their own health and fitness — whatever that journey looks like. Whether you’re just starting out, returning to exercise, or looking to push your performance further, I’m here to guide, support, and motivate you every step of the way.

My philosophy is simple: fitness should make you stronger for life, not just stronger in the gym. I focus on functional fitness and strength & conditioning, combining movement, power, strength, and endurance to build true capability — the kind that allows you to perform confidently and efficiently in both training and everyday life.

For me, it’s not just about lifting heavier or running faster — it’s about creating balanced, capable bodies that move well, feel strong, and can handle whatever life throws their way. Training should enhance every part of your life, building resilience, confidence, and long-term wellbeing.
